ABN AMRO Logo ABN AMRO Private Banking has been highly commended in the ‘Best Private Bank in Europe' category of the Global Private Banking Awards 2011 organised by The Banker and Professional Wealth Management magazines, part of the Financial Times Group. ABN AMRO Private Banking services are offered in both Jersey and Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

The awards evaluate private banks for their ability to deliver trusted advice, due diligence and risk management, as well as design efficient asset allocation strategies and bespoke portfolio solutions. Award winners must also be able to demonstrate their ability to attract and retain client assets.

A distinguished judging panel included senior representatives from Scorpio Partnership, Lenz & Staehlin, Fox Partnership, PricewaterhouseCoopers, AITE Group, Create Research and Millenium Associates.

Yuri Bender, Editor in Chief of Professional Wealth Management, said: “ABN AMRO Private Banking's performance in the last year shows that it is a rising force once more. The judges were impressed by the bank's asset growth relative to its peer group, pan-European ambition and clear strategic plan. The bank was also praised for its high conviction and cross-border investment ideas, hedge fund capabilities and socially responsible investment tools.”

Patrick Crowley, Country Executive of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Jersey said: “This award is a tribute to the long term relationships that the staff of ABN AMRO Private Bank forge with so many private banking clients across Europe and here in Jersey. ABN AMRO Private Banking comprises some of the oldest and most trusted private banking brands in Europe and is committed to strengthening its top 3 position in the Eurozone, as well as accelerating its growth in Asia.

In Jersey specifically we've experienced a strong year of growth, which is reflected in the growth of our assets under management. We've seen demand for offshore wealth management services surge - not only amongst Western markets but also India, where we continue to focus moving forwards in tandem with important partners, like Jersey Finance.”

In Guernsey, ABN AMRO (Guernsey) Limited Managing Director, Graham Thoume said, “We've had a year of strong performance in Guernsey and have seen an increase in demand for more sophisticated private banking products. We have just launched a suite of yield enhancement products which directly respond to our clients changing demands. ABN AMRO is perfectly placed to meet changing private wealth needs due to our global approach to doing business locally.”

Both offices report a significant increase in new London city based clients seeking individual solutions to their borrowing requirements to assist purchases of property in Prime Central London.

ABN AMRO Private Banking is the international wealth management division of ABN AMRO Bank, offering over 120,000 high net worth individuals a full range of banking, investment management, financial and estate planning products and solutions.
