Wandercraft: the French exoskeleton that enters the industrial era with a lifting of $ 75 million

The announcements follow one another for Wandercraft, after more than a decade devoted to rehabilitation robotics, the company is now engaged in the industrialization of its solutions, with the objective of expanding their use to personal mobility and industrial environments. At the crossroads of artificial intelligence, advanced mechatronics and care, Wandercraft intends to embody a European model capable of competing with humanoid projects carried by American or Chinese giants.

Founded in 2012, the company is already known for Atalante X, the first self-balanced exoskeleton used in hospitals to support the rehabilitation of people with reduced mobility. Over 2,500 patients made around 14 million steps thanks to this device.

This technological base, based on years of clinical development, now serves as a launch ramp for broader expansion, carried by two new products: Eve, a personal exoskeleton usable at home, and Calvin-40, a humanoid robot intended for physical tasks in an industrial environment.

The industrial turn of Wandercraft has accelerated with the entrance to Renault Group to its capital. The manufacturer becomes not only a technological partner, but also the first customer of the Calvin-40 robot. This one, designed in just forty days, was developed by relying on the physical IA platform of Nvidia, in particular the Isaac Gr00t N1 Foundation model combined with Jetson for the embedded. This collaboration with Renault aims to prepare for scale, both for exoskeletons and for humanoids.

“” The dynamics we have known in recent years is extraordinary “Says Matthieu Masselin, CEO and co -founder of Wandercraft. “” We developed internationally, launched our Pivot clinical study and prepared the marketing of Eve, our personal exoskeleton, and concluded a historic partnership with Renault Group. This funding allows us to continue our mission: to transform the way people live, move and work, whether in rehabilitation, at home or soon in factories. »»

Wandercraft claims a unique positioning in the world ecosystem of humanoid robotics. The company was recently presented by NVIDIA at CES 2025 and at the GTC conference.

She also won the Innovation Prize in SXSW in the Artificial Intelligence category. Beyond technological innovation, the company is now structured to produce, deliver and operate its machines on a large scale, based on industrial partnerships and a logic of transatlantic export. A walking center was opened in New York for the future deployment of Eve, with a commercial launch scheduled for 2026.

Paul-François Fournier, executive director of innovation at Bpifrance, underlines the recurring support of the public bank: “ We are delighted to renew our support for Wandercraft, accompanied by Bpifrance since 2017. This series D alongside Renault Group will allow the company to accelerate the industrial deployment of its unique robotics technology and make the exoskeleton Eve accessible to the greatest number. Access to health and mobility for all is indeed a strategic axis carried by the State with France 2030. »»

WADERCRAFT raised $ 75 million (about 69.4 million euros) in series. The main investors are Renault Group, the PSIM Fund for major innovation support, managed on behalf of the State by Bpifrance within the framework of France 2030), Teampact Ventures and Quadrant Management. This table is added to the $ 45 million raised in 2022 during the C series. Wandercraft was founded in 2012 by Matthieu Masselin, Jean-Louis Constanza and Nicolas Simon. The company is based in Paris and New York.
