LAFRAISE: How the dental quote structures the first wave of AI in medical practices

The dental estimate involves care, expense, medical understanding and dialogue between several actors. It is this complexity that makes it today one of the first truly operational use cases for artificial intelligence in a medical practice. Far from futuristic scenarios centered on diagnosis, AI is more easily installed where professionals waste time.

Apart from that, the dental quote has become a breaking point in the process, because it must be written, explained, reformulated, transmitted to mutual insurance companies, revised, completed, relaunched. Each step generates uncertainty for the patient and an administrative burden for the practitioner. In this context, specialized AI agents find immediate application.

The firms identify three areas of impact, firstly the reformulation of quotes in a readable format, which reduces medical and financial misunderstandings. Then the management of reminders, often a source of abandonment when the patient is slow to respond or is unable to compare the options. Finally, communication with mutual insurance companies, fragmented, time-consuming and rarely standardized. In each of these stages, AI agents absorb repetitive but decisive tasks for the care decision.

The economic gain becomes measurable from the first weeks of use and not by a reduction in costs, but by an increase in the acceptance rate of care and a freeing up of medical time. It is no longer just a document sent to the patient but a lever of commitment accompanied by a digital journey which guides each step.

The startup LaFraise has established itself precisely in this segment. The startup offers a suite of AI agents that automate quote management, communicate with patients, reformulate complex information, support exchanges with mutual insurance companies and integrate financing solutions. The promise of use is based on the continuity of the journey, without changing software, with an integration designed to fit into existing tools.

LaFraise is a startup founded in 2025 by five entrepreneurs from Doctolib and tech. It develops artificial intelligence agents dedicated to dentists to automate administrative procedures, improve understanding of quotes, facilitate exchanges with mutual insurance companies and offer integrated financing solutions. The company raised 3.2 million euros from 20VC, Seedcamp, Kima Ventures, Bpifrance and expert dentists involved in its strategic committee. More than 1,200 dentists use the platform, with 250 new practitioners joining every month.
