Wheat, corn or rapeseed see their value evolve according to multiple factors, whether climatic conditions, geopolitical tensions, monetary policies or global production. For a farmer, this instability represents a considerable financial risk. Poor anticipation of the prices can compromise the economic balance of its exploitation, or even jeopardize it.

Perfarmer has been responsible for responding to this problem by offering farmers a tool allowing them to sell at the right time. Founded in 2018 by Edgar Chaput, former executive at Google and Lydia, and Michel Barrousse, farmer in the Gers, the company has developed a mobile application operating as a real sales assistant. Far from trading tools often complex and unsuitable for the agricultural world, this solution is based on a risk simulator analyzing the trends of the last five years. It allows farmers to define an objective price, corresponding to the profitability threshold they wish to reach, and to be alerted by SMS as soon as this level is crossed on the markets.

Perfarmer’s approach is based on simplicity and efficiency. For a monthly subscription, operators access a platform guaranteeing them better control of their sales, without being trapped by market uncertainties. Since its launch, the solution has attracted more than 28,000 farmers and has displayed an average score of 4.8 on the main download platforms. The company has also established partnerships with around fifty cooperatives and negotiations, integrating its tools into their information systems to strengthen the reactivity of producers in the face of price fluctuations. In 2024, more than two million tonnes of crops were sold via the application, or almost double the volume treated the previous year.

AGTECH is experiencing a growing dynamic worldwide, with massive investments in the United States and Israel, where the digital transformation of agriculture has established itself as a strategic lever. In France, the sector remains late, in particular due to a lack of funding and synergies between the agricultural world and new technologies. Perfarmer is part of this desire to bring together these two universes. The company is a member of the collective La Ferme Digitale, which works to promote innovation in agriculture and to raise awareness among decision -makers about the challenges of modernizing the sector.

From its beginnings, Perfarmer benefited from the support of emblematic figures of French Tech. In 2018, the company raised 250,000 euros from Thibaud Elzière, founder of Hexa, Frédéric Montagnon, co -founder of LGO and Teads, Nicolas Steegmann, founder of Stupeflix, as well as Kantarepe Investments and Julien Romanetto, entrepreneur and active investor in tech.
