The lifting of 4 million euros in Rippletide illustrates a growing trend among the young French shoots of artificial intelligence which consists in combining European anchoring and Californian implantation from their first tables.
The choice of double anchoring
Based in Paris and San Francisco, Rippletide relies on this transatlantic strategy to address two complementary environments. Europe provides demanding experimentation ground, marked by regulation and the need to build explainable and compliant AI. The United States offers direct access to precursor customers, large-scale investors and talent specialized in production AI.
This approach is not isolated. Mistral AI opened an office in Palo Alto, Dust is based on a Californian presence to accelerate its development, while Hugging Face built part of its world notoriety thanks to its New York implantation.
Meet Enterprise-Grade expectations
Rippletide is developing a neuro-symbolic architecture integrated into IA agents to reduce hallucinations (less than 1 %), guarantee full explanability and ensure compliance with business and regulatory guardrails. The company directly targets the sectors where reliability is a requirement, from bank to health, and put on a model of “Forward Deployment” to support customers until production.
A movement that accelerates
This transatlantic strategy is also part of a logic of financing. European funds favor specialized and sectoral approaches, while American investors remain inclined to bet on large -scale bets. By establishing themselves on both sides of the Atlantic, French startups maximize their chances of capturing these flows.
At the head of Rippletide, Patrick Joubert is not his first project. After sold Beamap, a consulting firm specializing in the cloud, in Sopra Steria in 2014, he founded Recast.ai the following year. This chatbot creation platform had quickly attracted the attention of the German giant SAP, which bought it in 2018. Alongside, Yann Bilien completes the founding team with expertise in engineering and complex systems design.
With this SEED table in Oneragtime and Business Angels from Meta, AWS, BCG and Orbital Loft, Rippletide confirms its ambition: to offer large organizations the trust necessary to deploy Robust IA agents.
