Do you know Entalpic: generative AI in the service of sustainable chemistry?

Entalpic, pioneer of AI applied to materials, integrates the we innovate 500

Classification We innovate 500 In 2025, Entalpic is essential in 27ᵉ position. This startup specializing in artificial intelligence applied to the science of materials has experienced rapid growth as soon as it is created, with the ambition to bring together a team of fifteen experts from the best institutions in AI, Chemistry and Materials Science.

Its field of action covers the chemical industry, A strategic sector weighing several thousand billion euroswhose infrastructure and processes have changed little for decades. However, this inertia slows down the integration of conciliatory innovations Economic performance and sustainability. The most striking example remains the Haber-Bosch process, essential for the production of ammonia for fertilizers, which alone represents more than 1 % of global CO₂ emissions.

AI at the service of sustainable chemistry

Entalpic wants reinvent the discovery and optimization of industrial molecules. Its platform is based on advanced technologies such as Large language models (LLM), Active learning (Active Learning) and neural graph networks (GNN). Objective : accelerate the design of new materials and identify alternatives to polluting processes.

By exploiting data from quantum simulations, laboratory experiences, patents and scientific publicationsEntalpic automates the exploration and validation of new chemical formulations. An approach that aims to reduce development time and costs while guaranteeing the reproducibility of materials.

Today, the startup explores solutions in key areas like stationary batteries, hydrogen, methanol, ammonia and biofuels. His model is based on a partnership and co -development approach with manufacturers Specialized in the production of materials and chemicals.

A founding team of experts with strong academic DNA

Entalpic is brought by three co -founders to complementary profiles:

  • Mathieu Galtier (CEO) : ex-Chief Data & Platform Officer ofOwkingraduate of Paris minesholder of a doctorate in machine learning made between Inria, ENS and Oxford.
  • Victor Schmidt (CTO) : graduate of The Polytechnic and UCL schoolhe made a doctorate to Mila on the application of machine learning climate change.
  • Alexandre Duval (CSO) : Doctor of machine learning applied to materials (PROCESTUPLECELEC, INRIA), he worked at Amazon On large -scale language models.

At the start of the year, Entalpic joined Mila’s Startup program in Montreal and aims to structure a IA ecosystem & Materials.

A priming led by Breega, Cathay and Felicis

The startup quickly aroused the interest of investors. Breega, Cathay Innovation and Felicis led a starter 8.5 million eurosalongside Business Angels as Yoshua Bengio (Turing price, founder of Mila) and Gilles Wainrib (Owkin co -founder).
