Paid raises 18 million euros to redefine software billing and go to the era of the Results-Based Billing

For two decades, the SaaS model has imposed as standard of the software industry billing by user, monthly or annual subscriptions, then pricing for use, but the emergence of artificial intelligence agents reveals a structural limit: how to remunerate autonomous software that works in the background, often invisible, and the value of which is more impact.

It was this observation that prompted Manny Medina to launch Paid, a startup that offers monetization infrastructure for agents’ creators. Rather than selling licenses or calculation credits, PAID allows agents’ providers to invoice their customers on the basis of the generated value.

This model, called Results-Based Billing, wants to replace the gates inherited from the Saas. In a context where the majority of IA projects fail to demonstrate a return on investment, it offers an exit route to the growing distrust of companies, which fear paying for agents who multiply unnecessary emails or redundant tasks, and are however ready to pay concrete results, such as margin, time or productivity.

Paid announces that it has raised 18 million euros, in Seed Round led by Lightspeed with the participation of Fuse and Eqt Ventures. This funding is added to the pre-seed of 10 million euros completed in March. Founded in 2025 in London by Manny Medina, the startup is already valued at more than $ 100 million.
