For New Year’s shopping 2025, high-tech novelties will seduce enthusiasts with innovative products. Here is a selection to discover this season:
Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro soon in France
Xiaomi will lift the veil on its Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro, their technical sheets and their respective prices. The technical sheet of the devices should be similar to that of the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro already available in China. The Xiaomi 14T Pro will offer a 6.67-inch screen with 2712 x 1220 pixels at 144 Hz with a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m². It will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9 300+ chip associated with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The photo part is made up of a 50 Mp main sensor, a 50 Mp X2.6 telephoto lens and a 12 Mp wide-angle f/2.2 sensor. It will be equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery compatible with 50W fast charging, will offer WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, will have Android 14 and HyperOS overlay.
The classic Xiaomi 14T would offer the same screen, but with a less efficient chip: a Dimensity 8 300 Ultra with as much RAM but only 256 GB of storage. The photo part will offer a 50 Mp main sensor (Sony IMX906) and the two other modules of the Pro version. The Xiaomi 14T will be sold at a price of €649 and €799 for the 14T Pro.
Samsung’s Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360
Samsung has unveiled its new laptop, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360, featuring artificial intelligence. The Pro 360 will not deviate from the design of the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360. With its 360° swivel hinge, it can transform into a tablet. The laptop will be equipped with a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen with WQXGA+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Pro 360 will also be equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V from the Lunar range Lake. This powerful processor will be accompanied by 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD. It will run under Windows 11 with the Copilot Plus function. It will feature a full-size backlit keyboard with numeric keypad, a large touchpad with Windows Precision drivers, and a fingerprint reader.
Improved wireless connectivity is expected thanks to Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7. On the left side are an HDMI 2.1 port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the right side houses a USB 3.2 Type-A port, a reader microSD cards and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 will be powered by a 76Wh battery, supporting 65W charging via USB PD over Thunderbolt 4 port and features fast charging to replenish its battery by 35% in 30 minutes. The Pro 360 is available to order on the Samsung website for a price of 2199 euros in the 512 GB version and 2399 euros in the 1 TB storage version.
GoPro Hero 13 Black: the new camera from GoPro
GoPro unveils its new camera, the Hero 13 Black, which introduces new magnetic connectivity and an ecosystem of three optical complements and four neutral density filters. It allows you to shoot in 5.3K resolution and 60 frames per second, but also in Slo-Mo (up to 400 fps in 720P) and offers HDR HLG to facilitate color work in post-production. In addition to the lens integrated directly into the camera, GoPro has provided four lenses that can be attached to the camera to modify the shot: an ultra-wide-angle module, which allows you to take advantage of a 177 °, a macro module for taking photos and videos 11 cm from the subject, an anamorphic module for a cinematic rendering and an ND filter module to darken the image and avoid overexposing the sequence.
GoPro has developed a kit including four neutral density filters. Ranging from ND4 to ND32 at 80 euros to film with motion blur. The battery is capable of filming up to an hour and a half in 4K30. The camera supports WiFi 6 to allow faster image transfer, and still integrates GPS and accelerometer. The brand therefore sells accessories such as a magnetic support (€30) and a ball joint support (€55) to attach it properly. GoPro Hero 13 Black is available in France at the price of 399.99 euros alone or at 599.99 euros as a “Creator Edition” kit (with light modules, Volta battery, directional microphone and magnetic attachment system).
The Iconia X12: a new AMOLED tablet from Acer
Announced at IFA 2024, it is an Android tablet with a mix of premium and affordable features. The tablet has a 12.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The screen has a refresh rate of 60Hz and only supports 400 nits brightness. The Iconia X12 tablet measures 283 x 187 x 7 mm and weighs 600 g. The Iconia X12 runs Android 14 and has a 10,000 mAh battery compatible with 30W fast charging, for a maximum of 16 hours of battery life.
Optional accessories include an aluminum stylus, a wallet case with an adjustable stand and a built-in pen slot, a multi-angle stand, and a detachable keyboard. Other features of the tablet include a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 8GB of LPDDR4x memory, a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, and quad speakers. The tablet has a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card reader. The Iconia X12 tablet will be available from January 2024 for an attractive price of €369.
