Augmentative AI for command centers
Command AI’s flagship product, PREVAILis a software platform intended to optimize military operations. Its two main modules allow:
- Accelerated planning military missions, reducing the time required by four.
- Post-operational analysis data collected to adjust doctrines and prepare for future operations.
The objective is to increase the capabilities of officers while reducing the number of people mobilized in command centers. Unlike an autonomous AI, the solution favors an augmentative approach, where humans remain at the heart of decisions.
Strategic positioning in a changing context
The conflict in Ukraine marked a turning point for the defense sector. According to Loïc Mougeolle, the increasing intensity and complexity of operations make AI-based decision support tools essential. While innovations such as battlefield robotization are increasing, few players are focusing on optimizing operations command, an area that is nevertheless crucial to ensuring tactical superiority.
Command AI is banking on a European strategy by positioning itself as a key player in technological sovereignty. To do this, the startup uses artificial intelligence models open sourcefine-tuned to meet the specificities of the armed forces, while guaranteeing data confidentiality.
Gradual adoption by the armed forces
The reception of AI solutions in defense depends on their ability to respect military doctrines. By integrating PREVAIL in local infrastructures, Command AI ensures that sensitive army data remains on site. This approach reassures users and facilitates their adoption, although a cultural change is still necessary.
A lagging European ecosystem
Comand AI is part of a European defense tech ecosystem that is struggling to catch up with the United States, where the first startups in the sector appeared in 2014, following the invasion of Crimea. Loïc Moujol However, underlines a unique opportunity for European entrepreneurs to fill this gap by developing solutions adapted to growing needs.
Fundraising to accelerate
Comand AI recently completed a funding round of 8.5 million eurosbringing the total raised to 12 million since its creation. The fund Eurazeo carried out this operation, showing its support for a startup committed to European sovereignty.
This fundraising aims to strengthen the team, already made up of profiles from companies such as OpenAI or Palantir, and to accelerate commercial expansion in NATO member countries.
