The Minister of Labor Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet has split a plea inviting all companies to adopt AI on a daily basis in a platform published by the JDD on the occasion of the Summit for Action on AI. “For France and Europe, the adoption of AI is all the more critical since we have not benefited enough twenty years of digital revolution,” she said.

The figures confirm the urgency of a determined action: only 25 % of French companies, including barely 10 % of SMEs, regularly use artificial intelligence. At the same time, the United States, already at the forefront in the digital revolution, notes twice higher productivity gains. The OECD even anticipates that France could become the “red lantern” of the G7 if it does not react quickly.

However, the Minister alerts: “The real risk of AI is that we pass next to it. »» If it compares AI to the innovations of rupture of the past (steam, electricity or robotization machine), it insists on the need for a controlled transition, in particular through training and social dialogue. She also underlines: “It is not reserved for geeks, large companies or start-ups”to encourage VSEs and SMEs to seize the stake.

Beyond the quest for performance, it is the quality of work that can come out reinforced. Delegate routine tasks to machine releases time for decision -making, creation or customer relations. This gradual approach, far from any “revolution suffered”, supposes to involve employees: “Let’s get the AI out of the shade in a business”urges the minister, noting that some employees already use it informally, sometimes without the approval of their leaders.

To anchor this evolution, Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet highlights continuing education, by the modernization of business standards and the mobilization of the personal training account (CPF). Professional branches, with their qualification certificates (CQP), are invited to play an active role: the idea is to bring together the training of concrete needs of the field, rather than limiting it to the only circle of engineers. “AI needs engineers but especially our 30 million workers who are all users! »»she had already recalled in her text.

Finally, to prevent productivity gains from being the detriment of working conditions, the minister insists: “It is social dialogue that will create the necessary framework of confidence”. This consultation aims as much to supervise the use of AI as to reflect on the distribution of profits, knowing that technology could save “one hour a day” at each employee. The balance between competitiveness, workers’ autonomy and improving well-being at work will therefore be played in the capacity of companies, social partners and the State to collaborate.
