Everything is possible! Everything is allowed for people with reduced mobility!

“Make your life a dream and a dream come true”
This quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry embodies the deep hope that each of us has to transform our dreams into reality.

Omnilivery: delivery people in wheelchairs, they dreamed it, they did it!

People with reduced mobility invade a famous delivery platform in complete secrecy!
Their objective is above all to deconstruct prejudices about disability and to open the path to freedom and work!.
“A person with a disability is not independent”according to more than one in two French people. To break this prejudice, people in wheelchairs have become home meal deliverers.

But how were they able to do it?

Thanks to a suitable scooter, the “Omniriders”!!!
These delivery men were equipped with the Omni device, which transforms any mechanical wheelchair into an electric wheelchair using a scooter. Thus, the “Omni riders” traveled throughout the city of Paris. Thanks to this experience, Omni “erases barriers and proves that every person with a disability can now overcome all everyday obstacles”. We had a glimpse of this during the Paralympic Games which showed us the resilience of disabled people.

The moving story of a determined woman

In a wheelchair, Charlotte dreams of transforming her harsh reality. Twenty years later, its mounting solution makes it possible to motorize any wheelchair by attaching it to an electric scooter. A lower cost option. Charlotte Alaux has dreamed of freedom since childhood. The freedom of being able to walk with loved ones… on a bicycle. Wheelchair-bound since the age of four following leukemia, she fought to lead a fulfilling life, study business and find a job. But, faced with hills, cobblestones, sidewalks, it is difficult to overcome obstacles. A daily fight against the lack of accessibility faced by 1.4 million French people in wheelchairs and more than 65 million worldwide, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). But Charlotte, a true heroine, opens the world of possibilities.

Globetrotter in complete safety!

In 2019, she launched Omni, a startup which aims to develop “affordable technologies” to promote the autonomy of people with reduced mobility. It is thus developing GlobeTrotter, a removable attachment which allows any electric scooter to be transformed into “rolling carriage”. A “fun, playful and inclusive” solution! Finally being able to travel in a “secure and economical” way. In fact, a few seconds are enough to fix your wheelchair on a “trott”, without having to carry out any “Its autonomy is the same as for standing use, i.e. on average 20 km”specifies Charlotte Alaux.

The price of such innovation!

Price of this “universal” fixing? 590 euros, or, in total, scooter included, around 1,200 euros, “compared to 5,000 euros for removable motors available on the market”indicates the entrepreneur. “To motorize my manual chair, I had to double the price. Like the vast majority of users, I did not have access to these solutions which would have allowed me to be truly autonomous and free. »

A well-deserved H’up trophy

On December 17, 2020, Charlotte Alaux was crowned “creative entrepreneur” at the H’up Trophies which highlight business leaders with disabilities “My paraplegia didn’t stop me from doing everything I wanted to do! » The chair is not a hindrance, on the contrary, it is an opportunity to be able to show that everything is possible.
