From research to hospital, M2Care wants to build 8 new health startups

The Venture Studio M2care, specializing in healthtech, announced the entry to the capital of the French Tech Acceleration 2 (FTA2) fund of France 2030. This round table also brings together Mérieux Development, the Naos Institute of Life Sciences, Crédit Agricole Center East and several family offices.

Founded to transform the innovations from academic laboratories into viable industrial projects, M2Care supports project leaders from the earliest phases. Its model is based on a team of entrepreneurs in residence and on an international network mobilized to cross scientific, clinical and regulatory barriers. The objective is to link research to concrete applications in a hospital environment.

The studio has already started three projects. Previa Medical develops a digital medical system intended to plan and prevent hospital emergencies. Therasonic works on the use of ultrasound to improve the treatment of brain diseases. Rhovica Neuroimaging designs a ventricular drainage catheter equipped with integrated sensors to optimize the management of patients at risk of intracranial hypertension. Research priorities concern cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology and neurology.

With the support of FTA2 and its new investors, M2Care is now aimed at the creation and development of additional eight health startups. For Florence Thueux, president and director general, the objective is to bring together medical innovations on the market and patients. Carsten Laue, managing director, underlines the ambition to build pioneer startups in medical technologies.
