Mirsle Muscle Laset Sensors with a raising of 7 million euros

In a context of geopolitical tensions and research of technological autonomy, the French startup mionense wants to establish himself as a strategic player in the field of infrared quantum cascade lasers (QCL). Its rupture technologies, already integrated into optical countermeasures for aircraft, are now aimed at large-scale industrialization. The stake exceeds the simple rise in cadence: it is a question of building an independent European sector in an area still dominated by suppliers subject to American Itar restrictions.

Based in Orsay, Montpellier and GrenobleMirsense focuses on three distinct ranges:

  • powermirhigh power QCL lasers for air protection and defense;
  • unimirmolecular spectroscopy technology for environmental and industrial analysis;
  • Mirchipa miniature sensor intended for on -board detection of toxic gas in sensitive environments.

The performance achieved is based on double expertise: the miniaturization of optorelectronic components and the robustness of on -board systems, two essential conditions for adding defense, industrial security and environmental surveillance markets. Mirsense components are already used in systems capable of lure the missiles by infrared signals or precisely detect organic volatile compounds (BTEX) in an industrial environment.

The company originates in the work of III-V Lab (Thales, Nokia, CEA) and theMontpellier Systems Institute (IES) (IES)from which it has drawn a solid technological base to position itself on a European scale. Its ability to integrate complex components into miniature devices meets a growing demand for sovereign and exportable equipment, particularly in the context of reindustrialisation and national support for Deeptech.

The sensor Mirchipcurrently in industrial finalization phase, crystallizes this ambition: to offer a compact, integrable, precise and resistant gas detection solution, adapted to the requirements of critical infrastructure, ATEX zones or sensitive platforms.

To support this industrial rise, Mirsense modernizes its Orsay site, opens a new production unit in Grenoble and strengthens its R&D center to Montpellierwith the assertive objective of structuring a sovereign infrared laser detection sector in Europe.

Mirsense announces that he has raised 7 million euros in Series A. The round of table is led by Safran Corporate Ventureswith the participation of Supernova Invest,, Polytechnique Ventures And Crédit Agricole Alpes Development (C2AD). This funding aims to support the industrialization of the Powermir and Unimir ranges, and to accelerate the production of Mirchip.

Founded in 2015 by Mathieu Carras And Mickael BrunMirsese is a French Deeptech specializing in quantum cascade infrared lasers and miniature gas sensors. The company designs precision technologies for defense, industrial security and the environment. It is distinguished as the only independent world supplier High power QCL lasers not subject to ITAR regulations.
