Long relegated to the background in HR policies, mental health is now established as a strategic issue. Increase in burnouts, increasing cognitive load, quest for post-Cavid meaning: companies are struggling to respond to these tensions with conventional prevention tools. Faced with this dead end, a new generation of B2B solutions, often controlled by artificial intelligence, reinvents psychological care at work.
From prevention to automated intervention
The “mental health tech” platforms are no longer content to offer educational content or teleconsultation services. They rely on algorithms to detect weak signals early, assess the disorders with finesse, personalize care paths and measure their effectiveness. Some even incorporate automated clinical protocols from behavioral cognitive therapy (CBT), so far reserved for practitioners.
Healthy Mind, a Ukrainian startup founded in 2023 by Marina Kvashnina, Roosh Investment Group and Andriy Kobolev, is the illustration. It offers a complete psychological assessment in 15 to 18 minutes, measuring more than 75 indicators and capable of detecting up to 80 % of the mental disorders referenced in the DSM-5. Its solution, used by companies, combines automated diagnosis, digital interventions and access to certified therapists. In May 2025, she raised $ 1 million to strengthen her AI capacities and develop internationally.
A still stammering approach in France
In France, most actors remain focused on human support, even if some begin a technological turn. Teale, founded in 2021, offers a platform that allows employees to follow their mental well-being over time, with personalized scores and access to professionals. MOKA.CARE, another actor in sight, focuses on hybridization between digital content, individual coaching and anchoring in the managerial culture of client companies.
If these solutions encounter strong interest in French SMEs and scale-ups, they do not yet include real diagnostic AI modules. On the other hand, Germany is distinguished by a more medicalized offer. The HELLOBETTER and SELFAPY platforms, validated by the health authorities, offer digital therapies prescribed by health professionals, based on validated behavioral approaches.
Promises, but also limits
Enthusiasm around these technologies remains tempered by major ethical and clinical issues. How to make sure that algorithms do not bia have the diagnosis? What protection for employee sensitive data? And above all, how far can we go into automation without human supervision? So many questions that the startups in the sector will have to approach if they wish to convince beyond the early adopters.
At a time when HR departments are looking to combine performance, prevention and respect for privacy, AI is a possible lever, but not as a miracle solution. This new standard of mental health will undoubtedly go through a reasoned hybridization between human and machine.
