Italy is entering the global competition for industrial humanoids with Generative Bionics. The young company, resulting from the work of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, has completed a fundraising of 70 million euros led by CDP Venture Capital, supported by Tether and AMD Ventures.
Generative Bionics draws on a decade of Italian public research, carried out notably within the robotics laboratories of Genoa. The company stands out with an approach centered on humanoids designed to evolve in production environments, capable of manipulating heterogeneous objects, learning through interaction and integrating tactile signals into their decision-making. The company plans to integrate seventy engineers from IIT to accelerate its development
Italy, which has a dense manufacturing base and a strong robotics culture, has until now had no credible champion in the emerging humanoid category. This fundraising with CDP Venture Capital clearly positions Generative Bionics as a vector of technological sovereignty, in an increasingly competitive sector with the German Neura Robotics in Europe, 1X in Norway, but also Figure and Agility Robotics in the United States, and where China is accelerating with Unitree, Fourier and even Ubtech.
Created by Daniele Pucci, Alessio Del Bue, Marco Maggiali and Andrea Pagnin Generative Bionics announces a presentation of a first complete humanoid at CES in Las Vegas in January 2026.
