“Thank you”: Paris launches a communications campaign to thank its residents

After the discontent, after the criticism and after the announcements, each more deleterious than the last, and despite the heavy rain which came at a crucial moment, watched by the whole world, the city of Paris shows that the cohesion of everyone created a unique moment that will be remembered for a long time.

The Parisian municipality thanks the athletes, spectators and Parisians

A big ” THANKS “ in capital white letters on the most beautiful photos of the event: this is the message from the Parisian municipality to all those – residents of the capital first and foremost – who through their enthusiasm have given a unique color to the Olympic and Paralympic Games and participated in its success. Five posters were displayed in Parisian public spaces. No less than 1,500 have been installed on masts and low furniture throughout Paris. Thus, 350 took place on masts and 1,100 on low furniture. The campaign, produced internally using the City’s photo resources taken during the Games, was distributed “all over Paris”particularly along the Champs-Élysées.

More than 2.5 million people thrilled during the competitions in an exceptional atmosphere

Five moving photos of the road cycling event on rue Lepic, the triathlon and para-triathlon events but also the major festive sites – set up by the City of Paris throughout the duration of the Games – which, the ultimate symbol of their popular success, allowed “more than 2.5 million people to experience the competitions in an exceptional atmosphere”.

What heritage symbols?

The mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo spoke on social networks: “This summer, immense fervor took hold of Paris. The Games were festive and popular (…) We were able to rediscover the taste for the common, that of being able to vibrate, help each other and live together beyond our differences “.

“This summer, immense fervor took hold of Paris. The Games were festive and popular (…) We were able to rediscover a taste for the common, that of being able to vibrate, help each other and live together beyond our differences.”

Certainly, the mayor of Paris is rightly riding the wave of popularity given to her by the success of the event and with this “JO Mania” which gripped Parisians, even the most skeptical among them and those who were waiting for the slightest incident to surf on the anomalies. Even the rain has become an ally. This invites everyone to count on her “to ensure that this spirit of harmony, this happiness of meeting again, this joy of marveling together, continues for a long time”.
