As contemporary conflicts are intensifying and drones become an omnipresent threat, proximity defense is experiencing an accelerated transformation. Nordic Air Defense, Startup based in Stockholm, intends to embody this change by initiating a European industrial sector of the air, autonomous and scalable interception. The startup has just raised 4.1 million euros to support this strategic effort.
Born in 2024 and released from Stealth mode last fall, the company is developing the Kreuger 100, a drone interception platform thought from the outset for a double use, civil and military. Unlike traditional technologies based on missiles or explosive drones, the Kreuger 100 drastically reduces costs thanks to a hybrid architecture, a powerful software heart embedded on an ultra-light hardware structure, powered by battery, which makes it possible to obtain a unit cost up to ten times lower than that of competing systems, for an efficiency adapted to new generation threats.
This positioning makes it possible to consider massive deployments in contexts where density and reactivity take precedence over raw power. “What we imagined being the conflicts of the future is already there. There is no more room for wait -and -see. Europe must create a new industrial power and deliver large -scale defensive equipment, ”says Karl Rosander, co -founder and CEO of Nad. According to him, the influence investment is a key step in the marketing of the Kreuger 100.
The young company attracts very high level profiles from the global tech defense. Nicholas Högasten, former VP at Teledyne Flir, becomes Head of Product after 20 years spent directing critical projects in imaging and sensors. Dominic Surano, ex-endril industries, takes on the role of Director of Special Projects after supervising systems like Anvil or TRS. Bianca Otake, a graduate of KTH and a standalone navigation specialist, joined Nad after five years at Einride.
This rise in power is accompanied by a refocusing of governance, with a board which now welcomes Karl Rosander, Gustav Wiberg (also co -founder of Katla Aero), Jonas Dromberg (Revalence Ventures) and Hampus Särnbratt (Eqt Ventures). The Investment Fund inflection, the lead investor of this table, joins the council as an observer.
