Each day, thousands of European companies face the same difficulty: managing administrative tasks linked to their subcontractors. Identity cards, security certificates, insurance supporting documents or compliance certificates … The verification of these documents, often manual, mobilizes entire teams to ensure the compliance of the stakeholders. A low added value task, but with a high regulatory issue.
It is at this point of friction that Nineid attacks, a Belgian startup, founded in 2020 in Ghent, which developed a platform for the automation of document management of external workers. Intended for industries using technicians, maintenance agents or service providers, its solution centralizes supporting documents, scans documents and checks their compliance in a few seconds. The objective is to replace manual controls with a secure, fluid and compliance with European requirements.
According to Nineid, a site manager can lose up to forty minutes to check the documents in a single subcontractor. By automating this process, the startup claims to reduce this duration to twenty seconds, the artificial intelligence integrated into the platform scans supporting documents, detects anomalies, and provides project managers with a simplified dashboard displaying compliance in real time.
Beyond saving time, Nineid insists on the challenges of safety and conformity. As approaching the entry into force, in 2026, of the new European regulations on chain responsibility, the traceability of stakeholders becomes strategic for large groups.
Today, the solution is used by more than forty multinationals, including Basf, or Pfizer. The company claims 87,000 active users, 10,000 daily check-ins, and more than 2.4 million cumulative checks since its launch.
To strengthen its position on the European market, Nineid has just raised 3.5 million euros. This tour of the table is led by the Pitchdrive fund, with the participation of Aconterra and the Entourage Fund, already present in capital. It will accelerate European expansion and anticipate new compliance obligations. In 2023, the company had already raised 2.4 million euros from Pitchdrive, entourage, comate, as well as several business angels, including the founders of Showpad, Drupal and Silverfin. The founders of Nineid are Roy Jeunen (CEO) and Frederik Keysers (COO).
