Policloud raises 7.5 million euros to build a sovereign and distributed cloud infrastructure

Policloud designs a new generation of cloud infrastructure, combining micro-centers of owner data and Hivenet software technology, in order to offer a frugal, sovereign and scalable alternative to the hyperscaler model. The approach is based on a hybrid and localized architecture which allows optimized pooling of resources, while meeting the requirements of resilience, safety and energy efficiency.

The offer targets public administrations, companies and SMEs, with an explicit promise: sovereign computing power, fast performance, reinforced security and reduction of the energy and real estate footprint. On the other hand at the end of 2025, Policloud plans to deploy more than 1,000 GPU. The objective is set at 20,000 GPU by 2026.

“Policloud meets a crucial market need: having a sovereign cloud infrastructure that combines safety, performance and environmental responsibility. Our unique capacities in Edge Computing offer significant benefits to users of the public and private sectors, ”says David Gurlé.

Faced with the explosion of needs related to generative AI and intensive calculation, Policloud intends to structure a European response, adapted to territorial specificities.

The model is based on partnerships with municipalities, which house the nodes, provide electricity and connectivity, and benefit from reinforced local anchoring. Unveiled at the World AI Cannes Festival in February 2025 with the support of five cities in the Alpes-Maritimes, the company has already marketed four units and anticipates more than 6 million euros in turnover by the end of 2025.

It is in this dynamic that Policloud announces a fundraising of 7.5 million euros to deploy its distributed cloud infrastructure at scale.

Stephanie Hospital, founder and CEO of Oneragtime, and investor in the startup underlines: “Policloud is distinguished by its unique capacity to offer a power of decentralized, unlimited, affordable, secure and eco -responsible computing, thus responding to an increasing demand. »»

For Inria, which enters the capital via its subsidiary Inria Participations, this is a natural extension of the existing strategic partnership with Hivenet. “Inria and Policloud share the same philosophy of a decentralized path to the cloud, for secure and distributed computers, but where resources can also be shared according to needs,” explains Bruno Sportisse, CEO of the Institute.

Policloud raised 7.5 million euros in priming led by Global Ventureswith the participation of Inria Participations,, OneRagtime,, Mi8as well as several Business Angels.
