Faced with a system where 56% of young people regret their choice of orientation and more than a third drop out in the first year of university, Edumapper wants to establish itself as a real orientation coach for high school students. Founded by Sébastien de Lafond, Jordan Sanial And Julien Cheyssialthe service aims to support students well before Parcoursup, from second grade, right through to the formulation of their wishes.
This week we are hosting Le Club Sébastien de Lafond on the show.
The platform lists nearly 27,000 post-baccalaureate courses and emphasizes transparency: chances of admission according to grades, specialties and high school of origin, real trajectories of graduates, integration rate, opportunities by sector. The objective is to allow students to choose lucidly, without being subjected to the calendar or the sorting mechanics of Parcoursup.
Edumapper is evolving towards a mode “coach”with a personalized course: modules to get to know oneself better, exploration of professional worlds, selection of training courses consistent with the profile, calculations of admission probabilities, then construction and optimization of wishes. The platform is free for young people, the company financing itself via analytics and visibility tools offered to establishments, without influencing the recommendations made to students.
The startup raised 5 million euros with Eurazeo, Daphni, Kima Ventures and several business angels to develop its data base and its AI building blocks, which will play a key role in the personalization and quality of advice.
