The Parrot group announces that its new generation anafi drone has been added to the Cleared List program Blue Uassupervised by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) in the United States. This integration constitutes an important step for French society, which thus strengthens its presence on the microdron market for government use.
Technical and regulatory validation
The Blue UAS program has been set up by the American authorities in order to reference equipment that meets specific performance, cybersecurity and industrial requirements. The products appearing on this list can be used by the Department of Defense, federal agencies and other American government entities, without an additional validation process required.
The model Anafi USA had already been referenced since 2021. The addition of New Anafi This list attests to the conformity of the drone to the criteria set by the IUD. For Parrot, this represents an opportunity to access new calls for public tenders in the United States, in a regulatory framework which is now under control.
A context favorable to the emergence of European solutions
This development intervenes in a context of increased vigilance with regard to non-Western suppliers in sensitive areas. Parrot, whose drones are designed and developed in France, benefits from a clear positioning on the mastery of its value chain and on the integration of open standards, particularly in terms of cybersecurity.
Orientation towards professional and institutional markets, which began several years ago, seems to bear fruit. American recognition could, in the medium term, facilitate discussions with other public actors sensitive to these issues, far beyond the American territory.
An anchoring strategy on critical uses
Beyond the regulatory aspect, this development is a continuation of the group’s strategy: focusing on high value-added use cases-surveillance, security, cartography, inspection-and rely on an offer combining hardware and software (in particular Pix4D photogrammetry solutions).
Parrot starts 2025 growing with a turnover up 17 %
In the first quarter of 2025, Parrot achieved a consolidated turnover of 18.4 million eurosup 17 % Compared to the same period of the previous year (+18 % at constant exchange rates). This growth is based on the two pillars of the group, the Professional microdroneswhich represent 57 % of the activity and record an increase of 13 %, and the photogrammetryup 22 %, carried by Pix4D software solutions. This dynamic is a continuation of the performance observed in 2024 (€ 78 million in annual turnover), and reflects both the expansion of use cases and the rise of international sales.
