According to the CESIN 2025 barometer, 60 % of cyber attacks start with a phishing campaign. Despite the generalization of training in vigilance and the growing use of monitoring tools in Dark Web, companies remain helpless in the face of identifiers and conventional solutions often react only once the attack started, reducing the action margins of the security teams.
Founded in 2023 in Paris by Gautier Bugeon, Alexis Georges, Adrien Casteilero and Antoine Coudoux, Mokn has developed a so -called approach to phish-back. The idea is to tend to attackers their own traps: false connection portals exposed on the internet reproduce identically sensitive access (VPN, messaging, internal tools), so when a cybercriminal tests the identifiers it has stolen, it falls into the lure. The security teams can then recover the compromised credentials, neutralize them before any intrusion and obtain visibility on the current targeting.
Mokn had to design mechanisms capable of bypassing multiple fingerprinting technologies used by attackers and reducing the noise generated by Internet, while preventing false portals be identified as such.
In just over a year, Mokn has deployed its Baits solution to more than twenty major accounts and already protects more than 500,000 users. The company has reached an annual recurrent income more than one million euros, without initial external financing.
The company has just raised 2.6 million euros in Seed from MoDon (Lead), UFO Capital, Kima Ventures and several Business Angels. This funding must allow part of the management team to settle in the United States to initiate the commercial deployment of the solution, while strengthening product development and commercial functions in France.
