Nigel Farage to visit Jersey for Bridport event

Over 100 local business leaders are expected to attend a thought provoking discussion led by one of the European Parliament's most outspoken members, Nigel Farage MEP (pictured).

The Leader of The UK Independence Party (UKIP) will be heading to Jersey next week on invitation from bridport & Co (Jersey) Limited who are hosting the much-anticipated event for invited guests. The occasion celebrates 20 years in business for bridport Jersey, which was founded 26th February 1993.

The event will take place at The Royal Yacht on Wednesday 6th March at 12.45pm and is invitation only. Attendees can expect to hear about Mr. Farage's uncompromising position on the EU, the fragile political landscape and comment on the UK economy. His party also holds strong views on issues such as immigration, grammar schools and law and the audience can expect to be engaged in animated debate.

Recently described by the BBC as ‘pugnacious and crisp', Nigel Farage is an unusual character in modern politics. A firm believer in independence for the UK, he is a proponent of free speech. He was elected to the European Parliament in 1999 and later as leader of UKIP in 2006.

UKIP was founded in 1993 to campaign for the UK's withdrawal from the EU. Recently the polls have identified a surge in UK support for the party who have been performing well in the by-elections.
