Five staff at Butterfield Trust are celebrating achieving professional qualifications. In the client accounting team, Janette Shepherd and Devina Somrah have passed their final exams with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. They are now members of the Association and are able to use the highly regarded ACCA designation. In the relationship management team, Nikki Breton and Nick Trebert have gained their Certificate in Offshore Finance and Administration through the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. “The certificate has broadened my knowledge in a number of areas. Parts of the course were particularly challenging but it has provided me with a lot of information and skills that I am able to utilise daily in my role,” said Ms Breton. Also in the relationship management team Hannah Yerby has completed the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Diploma. She achieved distinctions in all four modules of the Diploma, receiving awards for attaining the highest mark in two of the modules, giving her a distinction overall. “STEP has been a very useful qualification to take as it specifically focuses on international trust management and so applies to my everyday work and has given me a much broader knowledge of the industry generally,” she said. Butterfield Trust Managing Director, Paul Hodgson said “Our clients expect high standards of technical ability and we regard professional qualifications as a hallmark in this area. As such, we have always encouraged our staff to undertake relevant qualifications through STEP, ICSA, CISI and ACCA, among others. It is really pleasing when that support is rewarded by such a high level of achievement at all levels within the company.” Pictured (L-R): Hannah Yerby, Devina Somrah, Nick Trebert, Janette Shepherd, and Nikki Breton.
