Dandara - Going for Gold The What House Awards, now in their 30th Year are deemed to be the Oscars of the housebuilding industry and on Friday 18th November, Dandara's Portelet Bay scheme won the top award for the UK's Best Apartment Scheme.

The glittering awards ceremony which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, attracted over 1000 property professionals from all over the United Kingdom and competition for these prestigious awards was very high.

The Sir Richard MacCormac designed scheme was deemed by the judges to provide a luxurious and original development in a very special setting. Specific mention was given to Dandara's attention to detail and the judges also acknowledged the company's strong desire to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.

The recently completed Portelet Bay development comprises seven houses and 46 apartments and commenting on the award, Dandara's Managing Director Martin Clancy said, “This is a much sought-after award and we were certainly up against some impressive competitors in our category. To be awarded ‘best in the UK' is a fantastic achievement for everyone who has been involved in delivering this project and it also reflects very well on the high standards and quality that we are consistently delivering here in Jersey”.

Sir Richard MacCormac added, “This award recognises that contemporary architecture can enhance our beautiful natural heritage, when a bold design concept is executed with real commitment to quality of materials and workmanship. The whole team is to be commended for their unstinting pursuit of this goal”.
