The Channel Islands’ employment relations specialists, Law At Work, have appointed Richard Plaster as Director.
Richard previously held the position of HR and Commercial Director with Jersey Electricity, responsible for the company’s strategic and operational Human Resources and Employee Relations activities and overseeing a number of the organisation’s commercial and support functions.
During his career, Richard has held non-executive directorships with local businesses and also chaired two of the island’s key employment related advisory bodies.
As Chair of the Jersey Employment Forum from 1999 to 2005, he was involved in the introduction of Jersey’s primary employment legislation, including the development of the Tribunal System and the Jersey Advisory and Conciliation Service. He later held the position of Chair with the Jersey Skills Board from 2008 to 2013, advising the States of Jersey on the skills needs for island organisations ensuring the delivery of key skills strategies to build the skills of the islands’ workforce.
