Institute of Directors Jersey announce shortlist for Director of the Year awards

Posted: 09/04/2014

IODThe Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) has announced the shortlist in this year's annual search to find the top business leaders in Jersey's private, public and voluntary sectors.

The 18 shortlisted individuals span Jersey's private, public and third sectors.

The 2014 Director of the Year Awards, sponsored by Appleby and JT, will culminate in a celebration of excellence, innovation and best practice in Jersey business at a black tie awards dinner on Friday 16 May at the Radisson Hotel.

The chair of the panel of judges is Eliot Lincoln, founder of Greenlight and himself a winner of both the Jersey IoD Director of the Year for a Medium Company and the UK National winner of the IoD Young Director of the Year.

He said: "Having run through the first round of judging, I have been impressed by the strength of the nominations. It has made the judging extremely challenging when there are so many high quality nominations on offer and agreeing a shortlist was not an easy task.

"It's clear that tough market conditions are playing a key part in the activities of many of the directors nominated. I shall be interested to see innovative ways in which these challenges have been approached during the final round of judging."
