Bohemia Names New Chef

Bohemia Restaurant is delighted to announce the arrival one of the UK's leading Chefs to take over the internationally acclaimed Bohemia in January 2013.

Having had a Michelin star for ten years from the age of only 24 and presently holding 4 AA rosettes as well as having held the American Express Australian Restaurant of the Year title while in Melbourne Australia, Stephen Smith ranks among the top Chefs worldwide.

Stephen brings to Bohemia and Jersey experience that includes working under legendary Jean-Christophe Novelli followed by time at two Michelin Star Heathcote's Restaurant with Paul Heathcote before moving on to becoming a Michelin Starred head chef in his own right at 24 at Gordleton Mill in Hampshire.

His experience in Australia where he achieved 2 ‘Hats' (the Australian equivalent to a Michelin Star) as head Chef of Le Restaurant where his cooking was influenced by lighter styles and flavors was recognized by winning Australian Restaurant of the Year.

He has also made a mark with food critics including quotes such as: “I dreamed about the food when I went to bed. It was a fairy-tale dinner, and Steve Smith is a magician.” The London Metro

Stephen who has already visited Jersey three times to meet with suppliers and get a real understanding of the fantastic produce the Island offers added. “I am really excited about immersing my self in the fantastic local produce Jersey has on offer and bringing my own personal style and menu design to Bohemia and Jersey.”

Stephen Smith will launch at Bohemia on the 18 January 2013.
