R&H Fund Services Appoints new Director in Guernsey office

R&H Fund Services, a leading provider of fund administration services, today announced the promotion of Gareth Smith (pictured), to Director in their Guernsey office. The Guernsey office opened in November last year to serve its growing number of clients.

Gareth graduated from the University of South Africa (Honours degree in Accounting) and Rand Afrikaans University (Bachelors degree in Accounting) before embarking on a career with Deloitte in Johannesburg and Columbus, Ohio as a staff accountant. He also held various project management roles with Nedbank (South Africa). Following this, he joined Ernst & Young LLP (Jersey) where he progressed through to audit manager level. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Prior to his promotion to Director, Gareth was a Senior Relationship Manager in R&H Fund Services (Jersey) Limited with a varied portfolio of fund administration clients.

R&H Partner Graeme Ross said, “We are delighted with Gareth’s appointment in Guernsey. Gareth brings a strong client focus to this young business and will be seeking out new private equity and other opportunities as well as building on the existing strong client base of our Guernsey operation in this buoyant jurisdiction. We wish Gareth well.”

Gareth enjoys travelling, squash, cooking and the company of close friends. He also enjoys following the fortunes of any remaining grunge bands at concerts around the world.

R&H Fund Services employs over 45 staff in operations in Jersey, Guernsey and the UK with funds under administration valued in excess of £18 billion.

R&H Fund Services is part of Rawlinson & Hunter, Jersey which employs 120 staff and which is itself part of the Rawlinson & Hunter international grouping of financial services firms.
