Ogier recently acted for institutional investors on the purchase of One Plantation Place, one of the largest office buildings in the City of London, in a transaction valued at around $759 million. This is thought to be one of the largest UK commercial property deals of 2012 to date. Situated in the insurance district close to Lloyds of London, One Plantation Place currently has a number of insurance companies, professional service providers and financial institutions as tenants including Royal & Sun Alliance, Accenture and Wells Fargo. Ogier fielded a cross-jurisdictional team, led by Jersey partner Michael Lombardi (pictured) with Senior Associate Richard Daggett and Associate Alan Stirling. BVI legal advice was provided by partner Simon Schilder with administrative services provided by Ogier's Real Estate team led by Director Paul Lawrence with Senior Administrator William Turner. Michael Lombardi said "We have been delighted to act in connection with the acquisition of this landmark property, which shows that, despite the headlines in the financial press, significant levels of investment transactions are still taking place in relation to prime quality commercial property." Linklaters LLP and Jones Day acted as UK advisers to the purchasers.
