Greenlight are holding a Lean Six Sigma training event in March. The Channel Islands based Business Transformation Specialists are passionate about helping local businesses realise their potential and Lean Six Sigma is one of a number of methodologies they practice in order to help their clients achieve their goals. “We have several experienced Consultants who are fully qualified in Lean Six Sigma”, said Jonathan Atkinson Greenlight's Chief Consulting Officer. “Recently we devoted a section of one our quarterly breakfast seminars to the subject and canvassed attendees to see who was interested in finding out more. The positive response was very encouraging so we decided to hold this event in order to raise local awareness of the methodology. There are a number of Channel Islands businesses who have already significantly benefited from running Lean Six Sigma projects and we believe that in these tough economic times the concept of removing waste and errors in business processes must be very attractive” Lean Six Sigma yields measurable results by uncovering process waste, reducing non-value-adding activity and increasing productivity. This incredibly powerful tool has revolutionised business process management for countless organisations. It is used across industries from manufacturing to health care, space engineering to financial organisations. Lean Six Sigma has evolved through the melding together of two methodologies that emerged separately and were later combined into one. Lean emerged from the Toyota Production System. Six Sigma has its roots in the 1950s with TQM (Total Quality Management) but was introduced as a methodology by Motorola in the 1980's. Lean: eliminate waste and maximise customer value Six Sigma: a data driven methodology for eliminating errors and defects in processes and products. A Six Sigma process produces less than 3.4 defects per million opportunities (defined as something that is outside the customer specification). “It sounds quite complex and of course depending on what level you go to, it is. But we have specifically chosen these courses because they are simple and easy to understand yet attendees will leave with tools, tips and techniques to go back to their businesses and start addressing process issues they probably knew existed, but weren't sure how to fix”, said Jonathan. The training is being held in Jersey and will be split in to two separate courses: • Yellow belt training (6th & 7th March) gives your teams the toolkit to execute lean six sigma projects. £600. • Champion training (5th & 8th March for Director/ Manager level) choose the right projects to run to add maximum value to your organization, then lead them effectively. £900.
