IT book by Jersey author is bestseller

"Software Architecture for Developers", an ebook by Jersey-based software developer Simon Brown has reached the number 1 spot on the bestseller list at Leanpub where the book is being published. Leanpub provides a service where authors can self-publish ebooks in PDF, EPUB and MOBI formats that are compatible with the major ebook readers. Rather than wait until the book is finished, Leanpub encourages authors to publish and sell their book while in progress. With a variable pricing model, readers can set their own price and all future updates to the book are then free.

Simon's book is based upon his successful two-day training course of the same name that he regularly runs at organisations across Europe. Both the training course and the book look at the technical team leader role on software teams and how software architecture should fit into modern software development projects.

Talking about the book, Simon said "Many teams are neglecting software architecture and their projects often fail as a result. Unfortunately much of the software architecture content out there today is seen as too academic, too 'enterprisey' or too buzzword-driven by many software developers. This is putting them off learning about the discipline because it's hard to see the relevance of that content to their day-to-day job.
