Businesslife.co is delighted to announce that Guy Fraser-Sampson, Senior Fellow at Cass Business School, will deliver the keynote address at their forthcoming Jersey Funds Forum 2014: 'The Global Perspective'.
Guy has over 25 years’ experience in the investment arena, particularly in the fields of private equity funds, investment strategy and asset allocation. He is perhaps best known for having set up and run the European operations of US fund of funds manager Horsley Bridge. Previously he lived and worked in the Middle East as Investment Controller with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
Since 2007, he has been a member of the teaching staff at Cass Business School, where he teaches MBA modules in both London and Dubai on Private Equity and Investment Strategy (which includes full coverage of all ‘alternative’ assets such as hedge funds, real estate, energy, commodities, currency and infrastructure).
In his keynote address, Guy will look at the impact of certain external forces on the Channel Islands funds industry. This will include how elections taking place throughout the world in 2014 and 2015 could effect national, regional and global economic policy; long-term inflationary pressures; and the rise of sovereign wealth funds.
Guy will also moderate the final panel of the day, which will ask the question ‘Has Jersey got it right?’ Panelists will examine the fact that while Jersey has distinct strengths in funds and is respected the world over, is the current industry model sustainable and will it stand up to external pressures?
Commenting on the keynote speaker, Nick Kirby, Editor-in-Chief of businesslife.co, said: "We are delighted that Guy has agreed to take part in what is set to be a thought-provoking conference. The fact that he can give the view from both inside and outside the funds industry means this should be a fascinating keynote."
