Guernsey's only five-star hotel achieves Gold statusThe Old Government House Hotel and Spa (OGH) has been granted VisitGuernsey’s Gold Award and had its five-star rating and Breakfast Award renewed for a further 12 months.

The Gold Award recognises excellence in the experience that guests receive, from the moment they make a reservation, their arrival at the hotel and through to their departure. Quality is assessed against the standards of excellence established by VisitEngland and the awards were made following a recent visit and overnight stay at the hotel by one its assessors.

Andrew Chantrell, General Manager of The OGH, said that the renewal of the five-star rating and the new Gold Award was a sign of the continued investment in staff training and the hotel’s infrastructure.

Located in the heart of St Peter Port, The Old Government House Hotel & Spa was the first Guernsey hotel to be awarded five-stars, which it has retained since 2011.
