Channel Islands Travel Group today announces the launch of a new air route from Glasgow to Guernsey, linking Scotland with the island for the first time in several years. The service, which is subject to licence approval, will operate every Saturday between June 29th & September 14th 2013 linking the island and Glasgow Airport, using a 46 seat ATR-42 aircraft with a flying time of two hours. The route will be sold exclusively by C. I. Travel Group's well-established consumer brands that include Airways Holidays and GuernseyTravel.com. The route will also be available to Guernsey hoteliers who wish to offer their own clients from the Glasgow area a direct flight to the island. ‘We are delighted to have concluded negotiations for the launch of a new service from Glasgow for the summer. It has been some years since Scottish visitors were able to travel directly to Guernsey and we believe that this new opportunity to visit the Bailiwick for a holiday and fly direct from Glasgow will prove very popular. I. Travel Group's website www.guernseytravel.com or via travel agents in the UK. Hoteliers in Guernsey will also be able to book seats for their own clients through C. I. Travel Group's Travelink booking service.The schedule will be: Glasgow dep. 17.30 Guernsey arr. 19.30 Guernsey dep. 15.00 Glasgow arr. 17.00 The service will be operated using an ATR-42 46 seat aircraft chartered from local-carrier Blue Islands. Passengers will benefit from use of Blue Islands' lounge at Guernsey Airport as well as their renowned in-flight service.
