Seminar to examine FinTech in Guernsey

AO Hall to look at FinTech as the possible future of finance Law firm AO Hall is to hold a 'Question Time' format seminar with two panels of specialists to explore the opportunities that FinTech represents for Guernsey and to consider developing strategies to encourage businesses to provide FinTech services from the island.

The panel will be made up of Commerce & Employment Minister Kevin Stewart who will discuss Guernsey’s existing strategies for FinTech; Andrew Whelan, CEO of P2P lender Sancus Limited; Martyn Dorey, Managing Director of financial modelling experts Dorey Limited; Marc LainÉ, Managing Director of IT consultants C5 Alliance; and former Chamber of Commerce President Rupert Dorey. AO Hall Group Partner and Head of Corporate Sam Shires will also be joined on the panel by AO Hall Associate Stephen Ozanne.

"Our experts have been carefully chosen to give an invaluable insight to delegates into the opportunities FinTech creates for Guernsey, what the island is currently doing to promote this new sector and exploring what strategies should be adopted to make us a leading jurisidiction in FinTech. We hope to stimulate a wide ranging and fascinating debate," said Shires.
